Safety is one of the most important considerations while driving. You can drive safely if you can see traffic on the road. You should be able to see not only what moves in front, but also what is coming from behind and what goes on your left or right. What is going ahead of you or what is coming towards you from the front can be seen through the wind screen. To enable you see what is moving from other directions the help of car mirrors is necessary.
Different types of car mirrors are available in the market. They have their own special functions and uses. The most common is the rear view mirror. It is placed facing you just above the wind screen. It is a slightly long rectangular mirror. It informs of traffic that comes from behind, and thus helps you to steer clear of it. For heavier vehicles like trucks, vans or bigger SUVs there are special mirrors to guard you against hitting any object while moving in the reverse mode. They are wide view mirrors which give information about a wider area. While driving in the night you would have noticed that glare of light from the oncoming vehicles can be quite upsetting. Same can happen in a rear view mirror if the lights of vehicles that follow you are very bright. To avoid it there are automatic dimming rear view mirrors. These mirrors cut out the glare and enable you to see clearly.

With its sophisticated electronics, ultralight weight and efficient aero-dynamics, the General Motors EV1 is the state of the art in electric cars. Its closest rival is the Honda EV PLUS, a four-passenger compact powered by a $20,000 nickel-metal-hydride (NiMH) battery pack. Both cars are available by lease only: the Honda just in California, the GM in California and Arizona. A warm climate was chosen for the car’s debuts: cold weather severely compromises their performance.
A researcher from the University of California Institute of Transportation Studies who calculated that replacing all gasoline-burning cars in the United States with electric ones would reduce tailpipe emissions by only 20 percent. Even as expensive toys, electric cars have not been a hit. Despite massive hyping by environmentalists and electric-power companies, only 269 EV1’s have been leased. Honda’s new EV PLUS has won fewer than 50 customers since its debut in spring1997.
The U.S. government and manufacturers have spent hundreds of millions of dollars trying to make cars light enough for batteries to power – and trying to make batteries powerful enough for normal consumer driving. But delivering the goods at a reasonable price has proven elusive.
The Honda EV PLUS has a nominal sticker price of $53,999 – some $40,000 more than a Honda Civic. GM’s two-seater EV1 is lease-priced at $33, 995. Compare that to buying a two-seater Mazda Miata, which far outstrips the EV1 in performance and costs around $21,000.

Discover Save Fuel Suggestions With Hydrogen Hybrid Fuel Saver * Gas Saving Cars
How 2 Save Fuel a Northridge, California based company is continuously moving towards changing vehicles to hydrogen in a new and unique fashion. What they are doing is revolutionary, a mighty motion in the right direction, the most proficient hydrogen hybrid solution on the market and an answer which is affordable.
Hydrogen Fuel Cell Cars have been in the public panorama for several years now, still we still don’t see them on our streets and highways. The idea of using hydrogen as see them on could very possibly be the long term remedysolution, but storing hydrogen on board is an unfeasible idea. Big fuel cells that put forth chemical disposal problems and the exigencyfor high-priced infrastructure with hydrogen fueling service stations has cast genuine dubiousness on the reality of ever seeing hydrogen cars populate our roads.
How 2 Save Fuel (How2SaveFuel.Com), a Northridge, California established company is steadily providing the idea of converting fuel to hydrogen in a uniquestyle.
Instead of creating new problems by introducing the hazards of having hydrogen on board vehicles in a compresed fashion their patent pending technology generates hydrogen which autos to hydrogen in the fuel mix instantaneously. How2SaveFuel.Com economically converts pre-existing vehicles to environmentally friendly hybrids one vehicle at a time with a system that extracts the hydrogen on demand from a reservoir of distilled water

For safe and proper driving the road ahead has to be clearly visible to the driver. In daytime if there is bright sunshine no artificial aid is required. If it is night, overcast, or otherwise dark the use of headlights is necessary. But if the weather deteriorates and it becomes foggy or misty the headlights are of little help. Fog lights have been specifically developed for use under such conditions.
Fog lights are specially designed bright lights that enable the driver to see ahead for a sufficiently long distance, even if it is foggy or misty. These lights are placed just below the car’s headlights. Their beam is aimed at a lower level than the low beam headlights. These lights illuminate the road that the car will pass over imminently, without causing any hindrance to the oncoming vehicles. The driver of the car can also see clearly just about far enough to take the car forward at a slow pace. There are also high level fog lights but these have to be used along with specially designed lenses, so that their beam is below the eye level of oncoming drivers.

“Objects may be closer than what they appear”. You must have noticed these words on the side mirror particularly of a heavy vehicle. It is admitted there that what you perceive there may not be the exact reality. Still what you see there is vital and sufficient for safe driving. It will help you in taking evasive action if there is any chance of a mishap.
Side mirror is one of the several types of mirrors installed in a vehicle. If what you see in front of your car was sufficient to drive safely, there would have been no need of these mirrors. You have to know more. You have to know about the vehicles that may be following you. How are they moving? Is any one of them likely to overtake you? A suitably placed mirror will give you this information, which will be helpful in safe driving.

Modern Menace
With the recent introduction of Xenon (zeenon) and latter day illegal Halogen light bulbs being fitted to new cars, the dangerous piercing glare of oncoming headlights has become even more hazardous than they were in the past, especially whilst driving in the dark on motorways and unlit country lanes these headlights have the appearance they are on full beam when in fact their not.
It now seems to be the latest craze on “How to annoy other driver’s”, as more and more drivers are driving continuously with their headlights on full beam?
Despite being illegal, it appears that drivers embarrassed driving their old cars, have decided to drive with their headlights on full beam, thus giving the “appearance” from a distance, that their driving a newer model car than they really are, the ‘full beam’ is to trick the observer into believing they are viewing a ‘new’ car with ‘Xenon or Halogen’ headlights on, instead of an old clapped motor vehicle they are trying to mask by this ridiculous, dangerous new fad which seems to be growing, and which results in temporarily blinding any oncoming drivers and their passengers. www.seesafer.co.uk

There comes a point in your power buildup where you may consider adding nitrous oxide injection to your supercharged car. This point typically coincides with reaching a level of performance that means increased investment and diminishing returns from your supercharger. For example, my car comes from the factory with a 5th generation Eaton MP45 supercharger. This supercharger is limited to about 230hp worth of flow rating and so no matter what I do with bolt-on upgrades on my engine, my peak horsepower will not exceed 230hp limit because that is the point at which the supercharger becomes the bottle neck in my system.
As we’ve talked about in previous articles there is still the option of porting the factory supercharger for a 10 to 15% gain in capacity (which in this case would be another 23 to 35 horsepower). There is also the option of retrofitting a larger supercharger such as the Eaton M62 to gain potential up to over 300hp depending on the final choice of a supercharger.
This modification path (porting or replacing the factory supercharger) can prove to be complex and costly, especially if the supercharger is integrated into the intake manifold (and possibly an air to water intercooler) as the case is with many factory supercharged cars.

Worried about the diminishing look and feel inside your vehicle? Want to prevent further degradation and protect your seats? Getting custom seat covers can help you protect your original upholstery and enhance the appeal inside your car.
Seats are one of the most important areas inside your vehicle. Since they occupy most of the space of your car interiors, if the seats are not attractive, cozy, and well-maintained, you cannot expect greater comfort and pleasure inside your vehicle.
The seats of our vehicles have to deal with varieties of hazards and abuses. Ultraviolet rays, heat, moisture, friction caused by frequent in-outs, food remains, spills of beverages and liquids, dirty claws and scratches made by pets and kids etc are the principal factors that make your original upholstery dirty and damaged. In order to protect your original upholstery against such elements it’s necessary that the seats are covered with quality seat covers. Custom seat covers such as Neoprene seat covers are most effective in protecting your original upholstery.

Fuel Saving Tips And Recommendations For Better Car Performance
———-
Consider what better things you could do with the bucks that you are wasting on extra work needing to be done on your automobile. Take a vacation? Purchase a better vehicle? Install a home theater system? Clearly there are better things you can do with your cash than pouring it into your vehicle!
Use lower octane gas. I always considered that the the octane levels were a scam and I latterly had that verified by an expert. Not that there’s no difference, just the difference in performance is neglible in most automobiles. Buy the lowest octane gasoline that is acceptable for your automobile. Unless your automobile requires premium fuel, pumping your car with high octane gasoline is a waste of money. That costly premium gasoline will not benefit your vehicle’s gas performance seriously, so let it go and use your cash on a dashboard Jesus or a pleasant night out or something!
If you don’t know what octane of gas works best for your car, crack open your owner’s manual. As long as your car does not knock or ping when you fill up with lower octane, you are good to drive on this much less expensive petrol. Not being gouged by expensive premium gasoline could save you hundreds of dollars a year. This is obviously the most no-brainer fuel saving advice of all. Do not buy the dearer petrol if your car does not need it. Filling up your vehicle isn’t about status!
Don’t top off when filling your car’s gas tank. Any extra petrol is just going to seep out. Why waste your money paying for gasoline your automobile won’t use? Stop filling at the 1st indication that says your tank is full.

A lot of people are starting to own hybrid cars. So, what is it about hybrid cars that is now attracting more and more people to get one for their own?
To begin with, if you’re a hybrid driver, you’ll likely find that you’re paying about half as much on fuel. Gas prices are always going up and doesn’t seem to drop. When you compare a hybrid car to a gas guzzler’s fuel economy, hybrid cars will enable you to cut fuel consumption in half. That spells less time wasted at the pump.
The government is also taking steps to promote the hybrid technology. Back in 2005, the President signed a bill into law that gives serious tax relief to hybrid car buyers.
Some cities and states even offer hybrid owners breaks on parking and tolls as well!
Hybrid cars are also better for the planet. Using a combination of an electric motor and gasoline engine, hybrids emit less pollution.
