We’re really going out on a limb here, but one of our very connected sources let us know that they’ve heard very solid information about Apple’s upcoming tablet. It has been widely reported recently that the size of the tablet is 10?, but there was also talk about a 7? model. Our connect said there is 100% a 7? Apple tablet, to be announced in January, and whether this is in addition to a 10? model, they don’t know. Would we bet the farm on this? No, but they’ve been amazingly accurate for us in the past and as usual, Apple rumors seem to get more interesting…

The Nexus One just can’t resist showing off at various occasions and places. This time the Google phone is caught on video and we are able to see parts of its user interface along with several new shots of the device itself.

The last time we enjoyed a series of leaked Nexus One photos and we also reported its rumored specs sheet. The Android 2.1 powered Google phone is rumored to sport the same hardware as the HTC Bravo – 3.7″ AMOLED display, 5MP camera, Snapdragon CPU.

Google still remains all silent about the Nexus One, but as rumores have it, it should be announced by 5 January – so that means some time right about CES, right?

Gsmarena have posted their review of the Blackberry Curve 8520. Here are the phone’s key features, main disadvantages and final impression.

Key features:
•2.46″ 65K-color TFT landscape display of QVGA resolution
•Comfortable four-row full QWERTY keyboard
•Quad-band GSM support, Wi-Fi connectivity
•2 megapixel camera with fixed focus
•512MHz CPU
•BlackBerry OS v4.6 with responsive trackpad navigation
•Hot-swappable microSD card slot (up to 16GB)
•3.5 mm audio jack
•Decent audio quality
•Nice web browser
•Office document editor
•Smart dialing
•Dedicated music keys
•DivX and XviD video support

Main disadvantages:
•Many features are unusable without a BlackBerry Internet Service account (plan)
•BlackBerry OS offers basic text-only submenus
•Mediocre camera performance and features
•No FM radio
•No 3G support
•No TV-out functionality
•Music keys are stiff and unresponsive
•No built-in GPS receiver
•Back panel is a fingerprint magnet

With so many shortcomings and so little nice surprises to offer in return, the BlackBerry Curve 8520 isn’t an easy handset to recommend. Maybe if the BlackBerry service is essential to you and your budget is so limited that you cannot afford the better looking Curve 8900 or the more functional Bold 9700 then this may be your only option.

Yet we cannot see anyone who will pay hundreds of dollars in monthly payments over the year or two of their contract as being so cash-strapped. And that certainly won’t be anyone who does need the extreme security or the extensive functionality of the email client. After all, if your email is so important to you, you’d be wise to get something better than a handset that tries to break the habit and fails.

And if you are looking for a new mobile user experience and are researching the BlackBerry smartphones we would suggest that you keep looking. A new experience it certainly is, but we don’t think it’s something to write home about.

And just to give you an idea of the bang-for-buck ratio of the BlackBerry Curve 8520 we will try to give you a few alternatives that you can get for about the same kind of cash.

The much better built Nokia E71 is the first thing that comes to mind of course. It packs a slightly slower CPU, but compensates with 3G, GPS and a better screen under direct sunlight.

If pricing is more of an issue you can also check out the plastic Nokia E63. It doesn’t put GPS or a metal body on the table but still offers 3G along Wi-Fi and costs a lot less than a commitment-free Curve 8520.

The Nokia 6760 slide will chip in with a larger and more comfortable slide-out QWERTY keyboard and 3G with HSDPA connectivity, but won’t give you WLAN. The pricing is also a bit easier to swallow and you won’t get any text-only menus with any of the Symbian handsets.

You can also check out the WinMo-running Samsung B7320 OmniaPRO and the i637 Jack. Normally we aren’t great fans of the Windows Mobile Standard edition but they will both give you a juicier spec sheet for roughly the same price.

There isn’t much more we can say. Ultimately you know how much you need the services offered by BlackBerry and whether its worth all the compromises the Curve 8520 brings to have them. Some may say that if a BIS account is a must-have it doesn’t make a difference which BlackBerry phone it comes with. It’s exactly the kind of attitude that fails the Curve 8520. Instead of widening the RIM appeal and demographics, the Curve 8520 struggles to come to grips with its own identity. An affordable QWERTY messenger with an ear for music is not the most compelling brief to begin with. An affordable (sort of) BlackBerry device with music keys and downgraded looks and specs isn’t really going to any exciting places.

How about that for an early Christmas present? Aimed at the Nokia N95 (which must be drawing its pension by now), Nokia have released a new firmware for the device. We’re off to dust down the older phones (they must be in here somewhere) to find out what delights are in v35.0.001. Be aware that user data is not preserved in a firmware update on the N95 range, so you must back up your data first if you want to keep it. The N82 also gets v35, though this does have User Data Preservation, making the upgrade a little easier.

The Xbox 360 is a amazing games console as I am certain you’ll agree, only it’s been prone to technical troubles since it launched about three years ago.

Gamers have gotten everything from freeze ups during game play to the system shutting down and blinking up 3 red lights on the power button. There are also additional errors like the 1 red light, 2 red lights overheating error and occasionally the disk drive stops playing your Xbox 360 games.

This article will tell you the most effective way to repair your Xbox 360 then you can get back to your games.

Now the most obvious way is to send it back to Microsoft and they will fix any of the above faults for you, besides they have increased the guarantee for the 3 red light problem (which is the most common) to 3 years! Bear in mind though that if you’ve any of the other troubles like the 1 red light, 2 red lights, or DVD drive troubles you’ll have to pay $140 to get it fixed and this is a bit steep in my view.

Also on top of that the time you have to wait can be long, with some repairs taking 6 weeks!

So what additional way can you repair your Xbox 360?

Well you can of course repair all the problems yourself from home, and you don’t need to be very technological either. All of the troubles are caused by overheating and if you know how to stop the heat build up then you will be back in your games very fast.

To do this you’ll need a effective Xbox 360 Repair guide and this is generally a collection of video and documents that show you how to do this.

Also bear in mind if you are going to fix your Xbox 360 this way to make sure you get a guide that offers full support and also a guarantee. You are able to test out the customer service before you commit to anything to set your mind at rest.

Thousands of Xbox 360 gamers have been using these Xbox 360 Repair guides to fix their consoles and if you follow the rules of thumb above you should not have any problems.

I hope this article has given you an overview of the alternatives you have to repair your Xbox 360 and hope you get back to your games soon!

Give your ATV some tender loving care it deserves!

Everyone deserves some tender loving care from time to time, and in my opinion, so does your ATV. It has given you so much joy and excitement riding on it, so don’t you think that it’s your turn to show your ATV some tender loving care? After all, your ATV will only lasts as long as you want it to – so the more effort you put into taking care of it, the longer it lasts. Many a times, we tend to be a little careless when it comes to things like maintaining or taking proper care of our ATVs, but this attitude will have to go – IF you want to your ATV to be in tip top condition.

If you think that maintaining your ATV is a hassle, consider the hassle and trouble that you will have to go through when the parts of your ATV starts failing and you have to go all out looking for its parts – or worse, when the ATV parts that you want are not available and you have to wait for it. Waiting for your ATV parts is one thing, but missing out on the fun of ATV riding? That’s another story altogether. So, are you able to go without riding your ATV for months while you wait for those parts to arrive? No? I don’t think so too. Besides, it doesn’t have to be expensive to maintain your ATV, it may be a little time consuming but it will be even more expensive for you when you have to replace the parts of your ATV just because you were too lazy to take care of it.

So, what’s a responsible ATV owner to do then? First of all, if you love your ATV, you would want to take good care of it, so be sure that you clean up your ATV after every ride. Give it a wash after every ride and as you dry it off, be sure to check all the fasteners and levers and ride it for a minute or two to dry out the brake pads. It is also a great idea to apply WD40 to all the pivots, levers and exhaust pipe to prevent rust and premature wear and tear. To remove stubborn gasket remains and rust from exhaust pipes, I’d recommend that you try to use Scoth-Brite pads to scrub them off – yes, it works! And don’t throw away your old toothbrushes as they make good small part cleaners so you don’t have to try to squeeze your fingers into those hard to clean areas. Another great trick to keep your ATV shiny is to use some floor polish (such as Mop’n Glo) on the plastic areas of your ATV – try it and see it for yourself. It’s an inexpensive way to give your ATV that “polished” look!

Maintaining air filters regularly will make your ATV’s engine last longer and be sure to check your tire pressures for every ride, as ATV tires are inherently leaky. If you intend to ride on rocky conditions, remember to run higher tire pressures. Before every ride, always remember to check the coolant level as sometimes we are not aware that our ATV is overheated until we look into the radiator, which by then would be too late.

If you take the extra time to check and service your ATV before and after every ride, you can be sure that your ATV’s life span will be extended. Improper usage and carelessness in maintaining your ATV will only cause unnecessary damage to your ATV as well as a shorter life span. For more tips and ideas on maintaining your ATV, check out the forums at www.jackel.com or www.atvoutdoors.net – and if you have a great tip to share, by all means do so – your fellow ATV riders will thank you for it!
