DECT Phones – The next wave of communication

DECT is a digital wireless communication technology which is bound to make the use of cordless phones much more common in homes and businesses throughout the globe. It is a device of highly sophisticated technology which helps to extend the range of signals. It has a frequency ranging from 1920 MHZ to 1930 MHZ and operates accurately in congested domestic radio traffic. These phones do not require any fixed GSM standards and can connect through proper base stations. DECT is recognized by the ITU (international telecommunication union) as fulfilling the IMT-2000(international mobile telecommunications) requirements and thus qualifies as a 3G system.

There are five major applications used in the technology of DECT phones:-

1) PBX or Cordless private branch exchange: This allows the distributing companies to connect to a wired telephone company and redistribute the calls over a DECT cordless phone system through a radio antenna. This system would particularly be useful to companies that have a large number of mobile employees such as warehouses and hospitals.

2) WLL or Wireless Loop: In a neighborhood where a common telecommunication service is used the wired local loop can be connected by a cordless phone that exchanges signals with a neighborhood antenna. A wireless local loop can be installed in an area where many users share the same antenna.

Bluetooth Headsets – Something you must have

Safety: I being a person who is concerned about the safety of not only one’s self but others as well would advice those people who drive around a lot and make numerous phone calls at the same time to own a bluetooth headset. While driving it is never safe when one of your hands is occupied for other reasons than steering the wheel. You could swerve out of control, collide with other cars or harm others. With just one hand controlling the wheel you may not have full control over the car and while concentrating on holding the phone and talking into it you may not see by passers on the road. The last thing you would want to do is hit someone with your car, may it be an adult or a child.

Convenience: When it comes to convenience, I could go on and on about it. First of all, I would say there is a lot of convenience for using this headset while driving. You can speak with someone and answer your calls even if you cell phone is in the dashboard or the back seat. Suppose, in your office you make local calls via your cell phone and make international calls via your computer, you won’t have to keep switching headsets or moving around. Just connect your bluetooth headset to you phone and computer and you can use them simultaneously.

Cordless Phone – A Phone without wires!

The base station on subscriber premises is what differentiates a cordless telephone from a mobile telephone. Current cordless telephone standards, such as PHS and DECT, have blurred the once clear-cut line between cordless and mobile telephones by implementing cell handover with various advanced features, such as data-transfer and even, on a limited scale, international roaming. In these models, base stations are maintained by a commercial mobile network operator and users subscribe to the service. Unlike a corded telephone, a cordless telephone needs mains electricity o power the base station. The cordless handset is powered by a rechargeable batteries, which is charged when the handset sits in its cradle.

Whether you are at home or at work, it is highly popular amongst consumers. The reasons behind its growth of popularity are its high storage phone book memory, 40 minutes of recording time, LCD display and polyphonic ring tones. Another reason for its popularity may also be because it is easily available in your local markets with various models and various price ranges. Headset – A sign of clarity

A headset is a headphone combined with a microphone. Headsets provide the equivalent functionality of a telephone handset with hands-free operation. They are used in call centers and by people in telephone-intensive jobs. Many people use headsets at the computer so they can converse and type comfortably. There are many different styles of headsets available, according to the need of the person.

Headsets typically have only one speaker like a telephone, but also come with speakers for both ears. Standard headsets with the headband worn over the head are known as over-the-head headsets. Headsets with headband going over the back of the user’s neck are known as backwear headset or behind-the-neck headsets. Headsets that are worn over the ear with a soft ear-hook are known as over-the-ear or earloop headset; these headsets do not have a headband. There are also headsets in the market which are designed so that users can change the wearing method by assembling and dis-assembling various parts, known as convertible headsets.

DECT Phones – A vision of sound clarity

DECT phones work from a base station, usually with a single handset. Some DECT phone models allow additional handsets to be added to the base station. You can also have additional cordless handsets in different areas of the house. This is ideal if you have a home office or work from home. DECT phones are also excellent if you have a large garden and want to take your phone outside with you.

The range of the handset will depend on the phone itself. The point of the cordless phone is that you can walk around free from the base station. Most cordless phones have a range of around 300 meters (about 984 feet), but new digital technology is being upgraded daily to expand that range.

You can also talk to another person within the house using DECT phones, rather like a walkie talkie device. Battery life will depend on the amount of money you spend on the phone. More expensive handsets allow you to talk for around eight hours with a single charge up. When not in use, the handsets can retain a charge for around 100 hours. Most DECT phones have a battery alert device that signals when battery power is low.
